Part-Time Marketing Associate

10–15 hrs/week $20–$30/hr Remote / MA preferred

We’re Chaotic Great Games, the indie publisher behind Gudnak — a fast-growing tactical card game with a passionate community of players, collectors, and weirdos that like playing games in a lively (but dying) fantasy world. We’ve run successful Kickstarters, shown at PAXes, GenCon, and GAMA, and we’re building one of the most exciting communities in the indie card game space.

We’re looking for a part-time marketing associate (~10–15 hours/week) to help us grow the Gudnak community through content creation, social media, and paid acquisition campaigns.

What you’ll do

  • Film, edit, and post short-form video content (TikTok, Reels, YouTube Shorts)
  • Create Instagram carousels and graphics
  • Write captions that sound like a real Gudnak player, not a brand account (because you are one)
  • Plan, launch, and optimize SEO campaigns — keyword research, on-page optimization, content strategy to drive organic traffic
  • Run SEM/paid search campaigns (Google Ads, Meta Ads) — manage budgets, write ad copy, A/B test, and report on ROAS
  • Engage with the community — reply to comments, repost fan content, surface great moments
  • Attend virtual content planning meetings weekly
  • Occasionally attend in-person events (PAX, GenCon) — travel covered

What we’re looking for

  • 1–3 years in social media marketing, content creation, or digital marketing (personal or professional)
  • Strong short-form video editing — CapCut, Premiere, or similar
  • Experience with Google Ads, Meta Ads, or similar paid platforms
  • Familiarity with SEO fundamentals — keyword research, search console, analytics
  • A genuine love of card games, tabletop games, or gaming culture
  • Ability to write in a distinct brand voice — no corporate speak, ever
  • Self-directed and organized
  • Massachusetts-based preferred but fully remote is fine for the right person
  • Bonus: existing following in the tabletop/gaming space
  • Bonus: experience with TCGs (MTG, FaB, Pokémon, Lorcana, etc.)

Compensation

$20–$30/hour depending on experience, ~10–15 hours/week. Flexible hours, fully remote. Free Gudnak product always included.
